St Albert Sturgeon Volleyball Club is excited that we will be planning on offering  25-27 Men's and Women's teams from U13-U18 for the upcoming 2021/2022 season. We are extremely confident that we will have a great coach roster in place but the final number of teams will ultimately be dependant on gym-time, and athlete interest. U15-U18 Men and Women teams will support traditional setup with each team having up to a maximum of 12 athletes. U13-U14 will support the traditional system unless tryout numbers, and coaching staff determine that a cohort system would be the best option to better meet Volleyball Canada Long Term Development Model (LTDM) and to better accommodate more opportunity for athletes to have the opportunity to play club volleyball. 

COHORT MODEL - The idea with the cohort program is for the athletes to train together and essentially be one team. For tournaments they will be divided into teams of 8-11 depending on tryout numbers and will be done at coaches discretion. Smaller teams will provide the athletes more court time during the tournaments. If one of our Men and Women teams decide to run a cohort program we will make the athletes aware prior to the athletes agreeing to play for our club teams.
